Sophie & Robin's wedding day

We recently had the absolute pleasure of coordinating Sophie & Robin's wedding day. We honestly can't speak highly enough of this couple and their creativity!

Sophie is a full-time beauty, fashion and lifestyle blogger, known for her unique style and creative beauty tutorials. It's no surprise that such a creative woman would have a clear vision for her wedding - Sophie knew exactly what she wanted for her big day and her ideas were unreal!

As well as creating a spectacular aesthetic - from balloons at the church to a glitter bar at the reception - there was a real focus on everyone having a good time, with so much entertainment throughout the day!

Guests started with a cheeky bevvy at the village pub before the church service - a chance for guests to meet and mingle, before heading to the ceremony. Sophie told us all about the service and it sounded beautiful, with live music, readings by family members and flower girls with balloons (cuteness overload!).

Our favourite personal touch has to be the seat reserved for Sophie's father, who sadly is no longer with us. A photograph of him sat in the front row, ensuring that Sophie felt close to him on her big day.

We were coordinating the reception, which was at Captains Wood Barn - one of our favourite wedding venues! We particularly love it because you can really add your personal style.

The venue itself is beautiful, with amazing outdoor space (which you can tour on owner Bob’s trailer!) and offers so many opportunities to personalise – every one of which Sophie & Robin took!

The inside of the barn was decorated so, SO beautifully – we don't really have the words, so see for yourselves…

Sophie was very keen to have a ‘big reveal’ moment for all this gorgeousness (understandably - look at it!), so during the drinks & canapes reception we were on alert to make sure no-one got a sneak peak!

The couple then entered through the back of the barn, to take their places in our majestic Peacock Chairs

To make sure guests were kept entertained outdoors before the wedding breakfast, Sophie & Robin had organised a ball pit, ping pong and beer pong to keep everyone busy and, again, to get everyone mingling.

This really did create a buzz and got guests chatting – as it did throughout the evening. Having games is such a great way to bring your guests together (you can check out our outdoor games here, if you fancy adding the fun factor to your day!).

For the time after speeches and before cutting the cake, the couple did something we’ve never seen at a wedding before – they had a raffle! Sophie explained that they’d opted for this rather than wedding favours, to keep everything interactive and fun. What a great touch!

While this was happening we whipped away some tables to make room for the first dance – which was, again, spectacular. After a little slow dance, on came Kanye West, All of the Lights, and off went the confetti canons! What a way to start a party!

It was such a memorable day, for us as well as the guests, and Sophie has been in touch since to thank us for our input, which really means a lot. We love helping couples realise their wedding dreams.

Love, RtD x

“I don’t know what we would have done without [Rock the Day]. You didn’t even know they were there. They mingled in with the guests but were on hand if you needed anything doing. The best wedding coordination ever! Thank you so, so much!”
